Grand Opening: Paris Photography

As hinted at last week, a little project has been in the works for a while, and as of today it's finally up and running! I've had a lot of encouragement from friends and readers about my photos over the years, and decided that this year I would start offering a small, limited number of prints for sale.
I've kept the same online location and name En Route from my former jewelry line -- it seems even more applicable to my photography, which is often done while I'm literally en route to different locales in the city.
If you'd like to visit the shoppe and have a look around, I'd love to hear any feedback you have -- I think my regular readers here are more familiar with my pictures than anyone else, so your opinions mean a lot to me.

Bon weekend everyone!

xoxo,
Lilie

~ Bejeweled: Week 2 ~

Week two status update: 5.5 more pieces completed, with 38.5 more to go, and 18 days remaining (eek).

~ Month o' Jewels: Week One ~

Week One status update: 6 pieces completed, 44 more to go.
My favorite so far is the Monaco necklace because it was beaucoup fun adhering the eensy-teensy crystals with tweezers and this insane (not crazy) glue that spun tiny webs of stickiness all over my fingers.
And now, a break for hot cocoa, then back to work.

~ Violet ~

I made an Etsy treasury today in which I fully indulged my recent crush on the color violet. I love it so much I feel compelled to recreate it here, where I can gaze lovingly at it and sigh melodramatically as long as I like (Etsy treasuries last only 3 days and then, *poof* they are lost to the ether). Luminous violet, a flash of turquoise, and charcoal to hold it all together.

Into the Woods on Etsy

I seem to spend a lot of time daydreaming about yellow and orange leaves crunching underfoot, the smell of frost in the air, the feel of wrapping a soft wooly scarf around my neck, and seeing the world through the golden haze of autumn light. I simply pine for the woods of the northeast this time of year (puns, the lowest form of humour). So I strolled through my Etsy favorites to enjoy the season vicariously, and thought I'd share the nutmeg+pumpkin-y goodness with you.

Winter Wonderland Collection

My favorite season is fast approaching. I've already begun putting a splash of Pumpkin Spice Eggnog in my morning coffee, and we went out and bought the seasonal Pumpkin Pie ice cream the second Fresh Market started carrying it again.
I love autumnal flavours: pumpkin, nutmeg, maple, cinnamon -- there is something nostalgic about them, or maybe it's fall itself that's a nostalgic time, a time of transition.

And then before you realize it, winter is here (well not here, because hello this is Florida and it's always summer, but you know what I mean) and it's time for the scent of pine trees and mint and cranberries and eggnog.

This year I'm celebrating the season with a mini-collection for my shop. A glittery, wintry, woodland-inspired concoction of ribbons and crystals and golden charms...
I love each piece but the white reindeer aglow with rhinestones is almost magically alluring. I don't know if I can bear to part with him!

my little sea pony

I've long had a love for sea horses and to my delight they seem to be a popular motif recently. I keep bumping into them while I am bobbing along in the internet ether, almost as though they were seeking me out. They are rather lovely creatures, no?

Etsy love: Jill Popowich

Jill is one of the nicest, most professional, and generous Etsians I've yet encountered. I custom ordered a gold fill toe ring for a Christmas present (she usually works in sterling), and when it turned out that the gauge used was a little too thick, she sent me another, thinner one... when I hadn't even complained about the first one. The recipient is thrilled with the ring, and I got to keep the "flawed" one, which is still perfectly wearable. Artisans like Jill are why I love Etsy. There is something wonderful about knowing exactly where your jewelry (or scarf or handbag or soap, etc.) comes from, and knowing that the person who made it wanted it to make you happy.
